Classroom-based: This traditional approach involves attending in-person classes at our training centre. In a classroom setting, instructors deliver lectures, conduct discussions, and provide hands-on exercises or case studies related to domestic retrofit assessment. This format allows for direct interaction with the instructor and fellow learners.
Online-based: With our use of the latest technology, we offer online delivery options. This allows candidates to access course materials, lectures, and assignments remotely, using our learning management system (LMS) or online platform. This course includes pre-recorded video lectures, interactive modules, quizzes, and discussion forums. Participants can learn at their own pace and engage in virtual discussions with instructors and peers.
Blended/hybrid: Some courses combine both classroom-based and online elements to offer a blended learning experience. This approach combines in-person sessions for interactive discussions, practical exercises, or assessments, along with online modules for self-paced learning and supplementary resources. It provides the benefits of face-to-face interaction while incorporating the flexibility and accessibility of online components.
Assessment
Learners will be required to complete a GQA awards end of unit knowledge test, accessed within the classroom environment under exam conditions.
The tests are externally set and marked and consist of multiple-choice questions covering the Learning Outcomes and associated requirements for the units within the qualification.
The end assessment test consists of 35 multiple choice questions and the learners have 50 minutes to complete the assessment.
Learners who achieve less than 25 at the first attempt will be given another opportunity to re-take the test.
The overall pass mark in the end assessment is 25 out of 35.
Learners who achieve this mark or higher in end assessments will receive the GQA level 2 Certificate in understanding domestic retrofit.
NetRet Tutors
All NetRet Tutors will be subject matter experts, and hold a recognised education and training qualification, with experience of delivering training within this subject area.
The GQA Level 2 qualification in is primarily designed for learners who are aged 16 or older and who already have a background and experience in the construction industry or learners who are looking to move into this every growing sector within the construction industry.
The GQA Level 2 qualification provides learners with an overview of information used, the health and safety considerations, the resources used, the risks of damage, contractual requirements and the processes involved as part of retrofit activities.
Course Delivery
The course has been designed to be delivered in a face-to-face format with extensive teaching and learning material developed by NetRet to support the delivery of the course.
The Scope of Training will include the following subject matter, but also knowledge from other areas, which will benefit their learners, from NetRet’s tutor’s own professional experience with the retrofit market.
