Management NVQ Assessor - Domestic Retrofit

Job Summary: As a Management NVQ Assessor specialising in Domestic Retrofit, you will be responsible for assessing and guiding candidates seeking National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certifications in domestic retrofit management. Your primary objective for NetRet is to evaluate candidates' competency and proficiency in managing domestic retrofit projects, ensuring they meet the required standards set by the awarding bodies and relevant authorities in the United Kingdom. You will work closely with candidates, employers, and training providers to facilitate the successful completion of NVQ qualifications in domestic retrofit management.

NVQs in our Scope:

• Level 4 Diploma in Construction Site Supervision - Retrofit
• Level 6 Diploma in Construction Site Management - Retrofit
• Level 6 Diploma in Construction Site Management - Traditional and Heritage Building
• Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments of candidates' management skills, knowledge, and performance related to domestic retrofit projects. Evaluate their progress and provide constructive feedback to help them meet the NVQ standards.

2. Portfolio Management: Review and assess candidates' portfolios, which include evidence of their involvement in domestic retrofit projects. Ensure the portfolio aligns with the assessment criteria and demonstrates the required competencies.

3. Training Support: Provide guidance and support to candidates, assisting them in understanding the NVQ requirements and preparing for assessments. Offer feedback on areas that need improvement and help them develop their management skills further.

4. Compliance and Standards: Ensure all assessments align with the current NVQ standards for domestic retrofit management and adhere to the regulatory requirements set forth by the awarding bodies and relevant authorities.

5. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in domestic retrofit techniques, sustainability measures, regulations, and health and safety guidelines. Integrate this knowledge into the assessment process and share it with learners.

6. Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of assessment and adhere to internal and external quality assurance processes to ensure fairness, consistency, and accuracy in all assessments.

7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized assessment records for each candidate, ensuring all paperwork and documentation are completed promptly and accurately.

8. Communication: Establish effective communication with candidates, employers, and training providers, addressing any concerns or queries related to the assessment process promptly and professionally.

9. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development activities to enhance your knowledge and assessment skills in the field of domestic retrofit management.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in domestic retrofit management, ideally within the construction or building industry.
• Relevant NVQ qualifications in management or a related field.
• A recognized Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA or A1 Assessor Award) or a willingness to work towards one.
• Thorough understanding of NVQ standards and assessment processes for domestic retrofit management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with learners, employers, and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate evidence presented by candidates accurately.
• Organisational skills to manage multiple assessments and paperwork efficiently.
• Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and promoting a positive learning environment.
